TIME SAVING - Automated Certificate of Verification of Identity (CVI)

Abbey for Intermediaries is delighted to announce another service initiative. In line with changes to the Joint Money Laundering Steering Group (JMLSG) Guidance Notes 2006, we will now accept a Confirmation of Verification of Identity (CVI) from yourselves which states that you have identified your client to the standards set out within the guidance for the UK Financial Sector issued by JMLSG.

This means that from Monday 12 February 2007 you will no longer be restricted to identifying you clients in line with a prescribed list of ID from Abbey and for online applications you will not be required to forward a paper copy of the IVC to your Regional Office. This will be automated as part of your full mortgage application, making it easier and quicker for both yourself and your clients to do business with us.

For paperbased applications Abbey for Intermediaries will accept the Industry standard Confirmation of Verification of Identity certificate (CVI)1 as included within the updated Literature section, making this easier and quicker for both yourself and your clients.

For full details of all the other changes in our range please read your Intermediary Rate Bulletin (Issue 2) & the your Buy to Let Intermediary Rate Bulletin (Issue 1).

1 Abbey reserves the right to request further identification if required
